Una piccola città stratificata

In questa prospettiva, la Cittadella di Aleppo materializza il passaggio di numerose dinastie ed imperi, essendo essa abitata da circa quattromila anni! Studi archeologici hanno infatti rinvenuto reperti risalenti all’Età del Bronzo (2300 a.c.-800 a.c.) fra cui, in particolare, un tempio pagano dedicato al ‘Dio della tempesta’ e utilizzato per certo dagli Ittiti.
